You made me laugh! :) Unfortunately, I probably won't be able to read the fourth book until much later this month. I am in a reading frenzy to prepare to meet and speak with 6 authors on April 17! ;) Yikes! I look forward to the next installment however! Glad to know somone else is getting to it earlier than me! Sorry for not responding earlier...working too many hours! Her descriptions ARE wonderful and I totally agree with you that the way she refers to beaus as victims or "sloanishness" are just wonderful. She makes you feel a part of the joke. Because this is a re-read for me, I'm enjoying how the characters are changing for me - I used to hate Mrs Lynde for being such a know-it-all about everything but now I appreciate her in ways I never could when I was younger "that's what." I will be interested to see what you think of Anne of Windy Poplars - I think I'm going to read it over the long weekend!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883575980086212146.post-75041146683408603802015-04-02T07:58:42.381-05:002015-04-02T07:58:42.381-05:00It is always interesting to me what resonates most...It is always interesting to me what resonates most as I compose a review. Each individual reader notices and highlights different things. :) I love Marilla! :) Thanks for stopping by!Lynn @ Smoke & Mirrorshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00464153596817995684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883575980086212146.post-15341314795407751932015-04-02T07:44:07.201-05:002015-04-02T07:44:07.201-05:00I agree with you that it's wonderful to see An...I agree with you that it's wonderful to see Anne learning more about her parents in this book. And that's a great quotation about Marilla's realization of just how much Anne has meant to her. Very moving. Thanks very much for writing this and for calling attention to these passages!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14445143156827375431noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883575980086212146.post-17839620262770272672015-03-27T09:40:19.615-05:002015-03-27T09:40:19.615-05:00Well, honestly, I think Blogger/Blogspot is perhap...Well, honestly, I think Blogger/Blogspot is perhaps the least reliable when compared to Wordpress? Many times I have to keep reposting replies until they finally "take" and are visible, along with other frustrations, but so be it. :) It's very generous of you to have followed it! Thank you!

Oh, your reviews are wonderful! No trading necessary! Besides, I get long-winded at times, but after all, these are my thoughts and I evidently have a more than plentiful supply! :)

Okay, forewarned about making fun, and I trust your evaluation that is in a kind way... :)Lynn @ Smoke & Mirrorshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00464153596817995684noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5883575980086212146.post-1264587247031730862015-03-27T06:37:54.228-05:002015-03-27T06:37:54.228-05:00You picked out such good parts to talk about! And, there is so much to smile about as well as to cry about. Rachel Lynde's little speeches always make me smile - so old-fashioned, but meant lovingly.
Just to warn you, Montgomery doesn't shy away from making fun of people in the books to come, but I've always felt she does it with the right kind of spirit - familiarity and fondness.
I am so glad you are enjoying this series!
For some reason, even though I am following your blog, I rarely see it in my newsfeed. I will have to just try to remember to come check!Naomihttp://consumedbyink.canoreply@blogger.com
