2016 Southern Literature Reading Challenge!

I have a distinct interest in "Southern Literature" (as in the southern U.S.).
What really attracted me to this particular challenge is the fact that the Borders Book Club I facilitate always has an interest in Southern Literature.
Therefore, I have read quite a few books that qualify, but since that was prior to my establishment of this blog, I have yet to review them.
There are many I would like to reread and thoroughly review.
Plus, I really really like most all of these books I've read AND...
there are authors I really really want to read who qualify: Sarah Addison Allen,
Susan Boyer, Joshilyn Jackson, Fannie Flagg, Bailey White, Dorothea Benton Frank.

Upon considering the requirements, etc., I decided to give this a try in 2016!
Jen of The Introverted Reader is the host and following are her rules:

Any book, fiction or nonfiction, of any genre, written for any age group will count, as long as the author is from the South and the book is set mostly in the South. Any format is acceptable and crossovers with other challenges are A-okay!

The following states will qualify as "Southern":
Alabama
Arkansas
Florida
Georgia
Kentucky
Louisiana
Mississippi
North Carolina
South Carolina
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
West Virginia

There are 4 possible levels:

Level 1: C'mon in the house!
Read 1-2 books

Level 2: Pull up a seat and stay a while!
Read 3-4 books

Level 3: Have a glass of sweet iced tea, honey!
Read 5-6 books

Level 4: Y'all come back now, y'hear?!?
Read 7-8 books

This challenge begins January 1, 2016 and runs through December 31, 2016.
You can join in any time throughout the calendar year.

You are welcome to link to reviews posted on Goodreads or Library Thing, or wherever, if you don't post reviews on a blog.

Jen has very graciously posted the following resources for reading suggestions:
 1) Her own Goodreads shelf
2) Goodreads Best Southern Literature list
3) The linked reviews from the challenge for 2015201420132012, or 2011
